Victor (Vic) Boucher, a son, brother, husband, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by those he loved the most in life on April 23, 2026.
Vic leaves behind his beloved wife of six decades, Muriel (Moe) Boucher, sister Justine Schembri, brother David Boucher and his sister-in-law Bonnie Boucher, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews and countless chosen family and friends across South Carolina, New York, New Jersey, Texas and Rhode Island. He was awaited in heaven by his parents Maurice Boucher and Erminia (Boucher) Jones and brother John Boucher
Over 83 years, Vic lived a big life full of appreciation for the small moments, constant faith and a twinkle in his eye ready to find humor at any moment. Whether he was drinking a cold Pepsi with his golfing buddies, viewing the ocean from the helm of a sailboat, or sitting across the table from Moe – Vic found peace and joy.
Vic’s career path led him from delivering mail on Staten Island as a postal worker to serving as a New York City firefighter until ultimately finding a role in the early days of computing as an information technology computer specialist. He also proudly served in the New York Army National Guard as a first lieutenant.
A lifetime love of sport and physical activity began for Vic as a young quarterback for the Plainsmen Football Team on Staten Island where he also later served as a coach. From golf to racquet sports to skiing and sailing, Vic loved the challenge and beauty of a day spent outside with friends. He was a man that never failed to surprise his neighbors, friends and colleagues with passions that would challenge most anyone – from earning his pilot’s license, to building a grandfather clock and solving countless mind-bending puzzles and riddles. A woodworker, painter and chess player, Vic was a true renaissance man who lived with curiosity, kindness and utmost loyalty to his loving partner Moe, family and friends.
