It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Howard Martin, age 69, who left us after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer. Victor was a loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather whose warmth and humor touched everyone who knew him.
Born on September 27, 1956, in Washington, DC, Victor lived a life full of laughter and love. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever. A true sports enthusiast, Victor loved watching NASCAR and cheering for the Redskins. He also treasured quiet moments on the beach, where he felt most at peace.
Victor had a gift for making people laugh and a wicked sense of humor and sarcasm that could brighten any room. His strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit were an inspiration to all who knew him.
He leaves behind his wife, Brenda Martin, daughters Melissa Canter (Jen), Christina Bowman (Danny), and Amanda McCloskey (Tim), his grandchildren Joey and Ashley Canter, Sarah and DJ Bowman, and Brycen and Carter McCloskey, his brothers Cliff, Vance, and Roger, as well as his sister Del, who will forever hold his memory in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his father Clifford Sr, mother Norma and stepfather Grover, as well as his father and mother in law, Bob and Margie White.
A memorial service for Victor will be held on Thursday, November 20 at 6pm at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church located at 2240 Carolina Forest Blvd Myrtle Beach, SC 29579.There will also be a celebration of life for family and friends in Maryland at the Patuxent River 4H Center located at 18405 Queen Annes Rd Upper Marlboro, MD 20774 on Saturday, December 6 at 12pm. Family and friends are invited to share stories and honor his legacy.
