Steven Lee Santacroce

Steven Lee Santacroce  June 8, 1963 -  September 13, 2024

Steven was born in Urbana (Bath) N.Y. He was the son of the late Sheldon and Donna (Accaprio) Santacroce. Steven attended Bath Central School where he excelled in many sports. He played basketball, football and baseball with baseball being his love. GO YANKEES!

Steven met the Love of His Life, Denise Lynne Santacroce (Scott) at the young age of 13 years old. He would ride his bike from Kanona to Avoca just to spend time with her. Just a short time later, they started their family.

Steven was an avid hunter of all things. He loved to hunt, fish and trap. Every year he looked forward to hunting season and spending hours on end hunting with his father and grandfather when they were still with us, his son, brothers, grandsons, uncles, nephews, cousins and so many friends.

Steven moved to South Carolina in 2000 where he continued as an electrician.  He was a supervisor for many years where he was very respected and appreciated for his hard work and knowledge.

Steven joined a bowling league with his wife, mother and daughter as soon as they moved south. That is where he made many of friends that he shared so many wonderful memories with. If he wasn’t bowling, he was playing men’s softball. He coached his son and son in law along with many other players. When he wasn’t playing or coaching the men, he stepped up and took on coaching a woman’s league.  His leadership didn’t end there though.  Years later, after having his grandchildren, he had them
on the fields or at the batting cages. He also coached his granddaughter’s basketball team. Steven was a true leader that took pride in his family and has always stepped up to the plate when asked.

Steven loved to garden, he was very particular about his yard, enjoyed bird watching but more than anything, he loved watching his 6 grandchildren play whatever sport they were involved in for that season.  He was a proud “Papa!” He would always say “this is why I live and breathe.”

Steven is survived by his wife, Denise Scott Santacroce, his son, Gregory (Danielle) Santacroce, his daughters Kirsten (Chris) Strickland and Casondra Santacroce.  His 6 grandchildren, Krysa, Camryn, Carter, Ella, Roczen and Ava. His mother, Donna Santacroce and his 2 siblings Roger (Julie) Santacroce and Denise Santacroce. His brother and sisters in law, Rose (John) Stratton, Tammy Abrams and Brian Scott. His best friend and loving care taker, Marjean Nielsen along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Steven is predeceased by his father Sheldon Santacroce, his brother Michael Santacroce,  His grandparents, Edward and Grace Santacroce, His father and mother in law, Burrell and Doris Scott, His brothers in law, Robert Scott and Ronald Abrams and his great niece, Gracie Whitacre.

Steven passed away from a short battle with cancer in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on October 13, 2024 at Greg and Danielle’s house (1926 Lake Elliott Rd Cassatt, S.C. 29032)
