Shirley Jeanette Simmons

Shirley Jeanette Simmons, age 83, passed away, March 13, 2025 at Grand Strand Medical Center.

Shirley was born, August 17, 1941, in Gastonia, NC., a daughter of Robert Ray and Virgie Mitchell Goodson.  In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by two siblings: Carolyn Joyce Goodson and Millard Randy Goodson.  Shirley loved reading her Bible and playing music.

Surviving are three children: Jarita Simmons, Wayne Simmons, Jr., and Lee Daniel Smathers; five siblings: Edith May Brown, Mary Louise Thompson, Helen Marie Bartlette, Elizabeth Ann Archie, and Robert David Goodson.  15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Myrtle Beach Funeral Home, 4505 Hwy 17 Bypass South, Myrtle Beach, SC. 29577.
