Shirley A. (Rich) Joris it is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Shirley Joris, who departed from this world on September 13, 2025, at the age of 92. She left a legacy of kindness, hard work, humor, and her deep faith in God.

Born in Caledonia, NY on July 15, 1933, Shirley spent her early years working for her family’s paint store, and then owned her own cleaning service company. In the 1990’s, she relocated to Myrtle Beach, SC. She was a cherished friend and neighbor known for her quick wit and gentle spirit, always ready with a helping hand or a comforting word. Her dear friend and caretaker, Susan Shore, brought much comfort and joy to Shirley’s life. 

Shirley found enjoyment from animals, holiday decorating, angels and she loved being in charge of the continental breakfast at LaQuinta Inn & Suites for several years. Shirley was gracious and could often be heard expressing her gratitude, with “Thanks a million.”

There will be no service, but to honor her legacy, please consider performing an act of kindness for someone in need. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
