Sara Ellen Hunter-Erwin, age 65, passed away peacefully at her residence in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on May 27, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on April 17, 1961, in Mullins, South Carolina, Sara was raised in the Conway-Myrtle Beach area. She attended Coastal Carolina University, where she was a member of the university tennis team. Throughout her life, she maintained a strong commitment to health and fitness and was widely recognized for her active lifestyle, discipline, and positive outlook.
In 1982, Sara relocated to Canada, where she established her home and raised her family. She was admired for her warmth, strength of character, and ability to make lasting connections with those around her.
Sara is survived by her husband, Gerard Erwin; her sons, Dan Hunter (Jess), Ryan Hunter (Rachel), Chris Hunter (Jamie), and Brandon Hunter (Vanessa); her grandchildren, Eden, Jack, and William; and her stepsons, Erik Erwin (Sarah) and Sam Erwin (Mckensie), both of Kitchener, Ontario.
She was predeceased by her parents, John Manship and Sara Manship.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Myrtle Beach Funeral Home. In accordance with her wishes, her ashes will be laid to rest in both Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Burlington, Ontario.
Sara will be remembered for her athleticism, dedication to fitness, unwavering strength, and her ability to bring warmth and light wherever she went. Her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by her presence.
