Ronald "Ron" Joseph Merrell, 84, passed away at home on April 20th, 2026 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. with his wife at his side.
Ron was born on September 13, 1941 in Philipsburg, P.A. To the late Norman Joseph Merrell and Mary "Penny" Elizabeth Belko Merrell. He will now be reunited with his parents as well as his brother Norman K. Merrell, making his family whole once again.
Ron is survived by his wife of 63 years Sarah 'Pat" Merrell; son Timothy D. Merrell; daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Michael Danielewicz; 6 grandchildren Julia, Christopher, Timothy, Lyndsie, Jessica, and Miranda Freiert. As well as 6 great-grandchildren; Lily, Maddie, Aiden, Tyler, Gracie, and Chance.
He leaves behind a large extended family of an uncle, cousins, nieces, and nephews stretching mostly through Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, and Texas. He was proud to have started the biannual Belko Family Reunion starting in 1981 and still carries on today.
Ron retired early from the C&O Railroad and fully enjoyed his love of golfing, watching and yelling at the Buffalo Bills, and watching his then grandkids and more currently his great-grandkids acting like "goofballs"
Immediate family viewing only will be held in Myrtle Beach.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
