Richard Vaughn

Richard Vaughn, age 66, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025. 

Born on December 7, 1957, in Bethpage, New York, Richard was the son of the late Raymond and Gladys Vaughn. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Vaughn, and his son, Nicholas Vaughn. 

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from December 2, 1985, until his retirement on June 30, 2006. During his 22 years of honorable service, he completed multiple deployments and numerous PCS assignments, leaving a lasting impact on those who served alongside him. 

He is survived by his sons, Damion Vaughn and his spouse, Ryan Michelle Vaughn, and son Ryan Edward Vaughn; grandchildren, Breighlyn, and Addyson; sister, Judy Blandi, and her husband, Vito Blandi; nephews, Vito Jr. and his wife, Christine, and Michael and his wife, Meri; niece, Lisa, and her husband, Chris; along with their children who loved him dearly. 

Richard had many passions in life. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, woodworking, listening to music, and spending time with his beloved Rottweilers. His adventurous spirit, devotion to family, and dedication to service will be remembered by all who knew him. 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Myrtle Beach Funeral Home, 4505 Hwy 17 Bypass South, Myrtle Beach, SC. 29577. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Richard’s honor. 

Richard Vaughn will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his loyalty, strength, and love for family, country, and the simple joys of life.
