Michelle Marcus Obituary

Michelle Youbougha Marcus was born to Yvonne and Ralph Acosta on June 16,1964.  Michelle was the youngest of seven children.  Michelle (like everyone who knew her called her) received her education from Newtown High School where she met the love of her life Pervis Marcus.  She received her vocational training as a nursing assistant and worked for several years as a nursing assistant at the Women’s clinic associated with Beth Israel Hospital.  Michelle was a dedicated wife and mother.  Michelle and Pervis were married for forty-three years until the time of his death.  Michelle was also a dedicated daughter and aunt.  She resigned her job to take care of her mother, her nieces, nephews and her own children.  If anyone knew Michelle, they knew that she spoke her truth and lived her truth and was not concerned about what people thought or felt.  Some would say she was her mother reincarnated.  Michelle was a strong woman.  During her lifetime she buried her husband Pervis of forty-three years.  Her daughter Michelle and grandson Messiah.  Her mother Yvonne and father Ralph.  Her brothers Frankie, Ronald and DonJuan.  Her sister Sabrina and nephew Joe.  Michelle leaves to mourn her passing her daughters: Shavonne Marcus (Rickeem), Nicole Dumornay (Andy) sons: DonJuan Marcus (Nafeesha) and Michael Marcus (Corra) along with thirteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter.  Her sister: Elaine Bartlett; brothers: Kenneth Bartlett aka Shyan, Darren Bartlett, (Arianna) David Crown, her Aunt Barbara Reed and cousin Renee and Sandra along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  If Michelle were here, she would tell you not to cry for me.  Take what I taught and showed you and live your life to the fullest because that’s what I did.  Live your truth.  Rest in peace.
