Michael Moore

Michael “Mike” Leslie Moore, age 69, entered eternal rest at home surrounded by his family. Originally from Lanesboro Minnesota. Known for having a passion for all sports, particularly Baseball and Softball. Being a left-handed pitcher, his dream was to make it pro, but an injury would take him on a different path. His career in food and beverage purchasing took him from Minnesota to Delaware and finally Myrtle Beach. Making new friends that became family. To his daughters, Uncle Eric, Uncle Jimmy and Uncle Reggie were family. Spending time shooting the “sh*t”, talking politics, and talking about life. Mike would find his way back on the ballfield. First by playing in local softball leagues that created everlasting brotherhood with his teammates. Then becoming an umpire for the local recreation and High school leagues around Horry County, revitalizing his passion for sports. You would find him at his granddaughter’s (Caitlyn) games, and he did not go easy on her.

He would brag to us about his “many lives lived”. Telling us stories including getting arrested for being a nuisance, stealing cars, and partying. No one in the family believed him, until his family went to Lanesboro and by chance, ran into one of his old childhood friends named Butchy. “Butchy” would tell us about him, Mike, a hatchet, and a lost finger taken away by a bird. His family would call Mike immediately to discuss the story. Mike was proud of his family. His two sons, Chris and Scott, that live in Texas. Cassie and Miranda in South Carolina. All finding their way in life to be successful. Some of his favorite memories is letting his granddaughters braid his hair and he was proud of that hair. Put up in a ponytail with one of many ballcaps that he owned. He adored watching his family grow.

Mike was proceeded in death by his father Leslie Moore and mother Helen Moore. He is survived by his wife Marie Clegg-Moore (38 years of marriage) and his 4 children: Christopher Michael Moore (Ana), Scott Leslie Moore (from his first marital union with Debbie), Miranda CleggMoore-Varnon (Christopher) and Cassie Vibbert (Cory) from his second marriage with Marie. 3 grandchildren: Caitlyn, Emma and Addison. “Furbabies” his dogs: Teddy (Yorkie), Cooper (hound), Bella (Havanese), and Bailey (chow mix).
