Melba Munday Etzig of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away April 25, 2026 at home with family.
Melba was born October 15, 1944 in Omar, WV. She was the daughter of Elzie and Cinda Munday. Melba moved to Washington DC in 1961 to start her lifetime career at the USDA. She moved to Front Royal, Virginia in 1978. Melba and her late husband Roger D. Etzig moved to South Carolina in 1997.
Melba is survived by her daughter: Dawn Dopler; grandchildren: David, Joe and Jack; great granddaughter: Harper Lee; siblings: Elzie Munday Jr., Ethelene Chew and Ronald Munday; many cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Melba will be remembered for her love of family, friends and life. She was a strong, proud West Virginian through and through.
