Louis Moratto

Louis Moratto age 88, passed away in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on October 17th 2024. His five children surrounded him for his passing, and many loved ones were there during the last few days of his life.

Louis was born in the Bronx, NY and was the eldest of two children born to Anthony and Pauline Moratto. He married his beloved deceased wife Lena (Quattrone) Moratto with which they had five children. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth “Betty” Michaels. His memory lives on in his five children including three daughters; Kim (Breton) Moratto, Toni (DeMato) Moratto, Dr. LuAnn Moratto, two sons; Louis Moratto Jr., Dr. Michael Moratto; son in law; Peter Demato II, daughter in law; Josephine (Louis) Moratto, grandchildren; Peter Joseph Demato III, Ashley (Peter) Demato, James Anthony Demato, Nicholas Dillon Demato, Amanda (Nicholas) DeMato, Noah Jun Moratto Barnett, Stevana Lena Moratto, Niko Louis Moratto, and three great grandchildren; Ava Lynn Demato, Peter Joseph DeMato IV and Jack Pierce DeMato.
 

Louis was raised in the streets of the Bronx and after having kids he moved his family to upstate New York to raise them in a better environment. He served in the US Marine Reserves, was a volunteer Fireman and was very involved in the local community. Lou was pretty unforgettable. Being the father of five kids he made sure they knew how to take care of themselves and taught them about the ways of the world. He was a hard working man, he always provided for his family. His personality was sly but half the time he was joking around attempting to get a rise out of you. When he wasn’t working he could be found traveling with Lena and his children up and down the East coast pulling a camper behind his packed truck searching out the best beaches for a family vacation. After the death of the love of his life his first wife Lena, he moved to South Carolina with his second wife Barbra.

Louis was survived by his second wife Barbara Mary (Hamilton) Moratto. They loved the beach life and enjoyed social time with friends and spent many weeks on the ocean traveling on gambling cruises. Louis was a member of Ekklesia Christian Church and could be found every Sunday morning sipping on coffee, enjoying a snack and talking to his buddies at his favorite corner table after first service.

To honor our father’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. I invite you to please privately celebrate Louis Moratto’s memory in your own way. The family expresses gratitude to all caregivers and angels that stepped in and helped make the end of Louis’s life exceptional.  Let us remember the past with gratitude, live the present with enthusiasm, and look forward to the future with confidence. May he rest well in Gods mighty hands.
