Jose Luis Quiñones Carle, born on May 31, 1954, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, with deep family roots in Vieques, and a longtime resident of Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in front of the ocean view of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Jose was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was rooted in honor, culture, and deep pride in his Puerto Rican heritage. Proud of his roots, he carried the traditions, music, and spirit of Puerto Rico wherever he went, while building his life and family in Massachusetts. Known for his humor, spunky personality, quick wit, and warm heart, Jose was a true social butterfly—loved by many and a loyal friend to all.
His presence brought laughter, rhythm, and a joy that stayed. The memories he leaves behind are filled with music, storytelling, cultural pride, and love—moments that will continue to comfort and inspire those who knew him.
He is survived by his two beloved daughters, five cherished grandchildren, and a growing legacy of great-grandchildren.
In accordance with his wishes, his ashes will be returned to his beloved island of Puerto Rico.
Though our hearts ache, we find peace knowing he is at rest and held in God’s care.
“From Vieques I come, and to Vieques I return; my homeland lives in my soul.”
