James “Jim” Andrew Arrington, age 89, passed away, Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Grand Strand Medical Center.
Jim was born February 26, 1935, in Rowland, NC., a son of the late Ollie Bernard Arrington and Hallie Bowling Arrington. Jim was preceded in death by his step-son: Eddie Finch Jr. and his granddaughters: Jessica Briggs and Cassie Hendershott.
Jim was an avid fisherman and boater. Jim was in auto and marine sales most of his life. In his later years, Jim especially loved managing the Myrtle Beach Yacht Club. He loved tinkering in his garage and spending time with his family and friends. Jim proudly served his country in the US Air-Force.
Jim is survived by his wife: Dianne Arrington; daughter: Jamie Briggs, her husband Robert of Columbus, Ohio and son: Michael Arrington and his wife Michelle of Carlsbad, California, grandchildren: Taylor Gilliam and her husband Aaron, Ryan Briggs and step-grandchildren: Nick Woolsey, Alyssa Finch, Miranda Finch and William Roucoulet as well as many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.
Jim was a man of faith, a loyal and kind person that will be sorely missed by many.
A graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Rowland Cemetery in Rowland, NC. Directed by Myrtle Beach Funeral Home, 4505 Hwy 17 Bypass South, Myrtle Beach, SC. 29577.
