James “Jim” Patrick Dunn, 79, of North Myrtle Beach, SC passed away May, 28, 2026. Born November 19, 1946 in East Orange, NJ, Jim was well known as a real estate Broker in North Myrtle Beach for many years with his own business, Dunn Realty.
The fourth of five children, Jim spent his childhood and adolescence wandering and exploring his neighborhood and town with his siblings and friends. At this time he met his closest and oldest friend, Bob Mulvihill. Through thick and thin they remained brothers their entire lives. Jim worked many jobs as a young man, one of which led him to meet Auto Mechanic brothers Stanley and Kenny Dubanowich, whose friendship has lasted to this day. His friendship later in life with Tanya Connie and her family became his local bedrock of companionship and love and the continuing loving care by his son, Joe and ex-wife, Sher & Tony sustained Jim till the end.
An avid reader of history, poetry and 19th and 20th century classics, Jim also was a lover of music, especially Jazz, Classical and early Rock & Roll. Later in life he also developed a love for cooking and its discipline and cooked countless meals for his loved ones.
Jim is survived by his beloved son, Joseph “Joe” I. DiMaggio Dunn, his dearest friend, Tanya Connie, and his family: Sher DiMaggio Zois (Tony); niece, Sharon Moran (Jim), nephews Jimmy Mulvihill and Michael Moran.
He is predeceased by his parents Charles J. and Ruth Brooks Dunn, his brothers Michael, David, Charles, sister Alice, and ‘other brothers’ Robert Mulvihill and Stanley Dubanowich.
He will be remembered as a genuinely kind man who loved his family and friends more and more and still yet more every day of his life. May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him.
