Jacob "Jake" Kuebel passed away peacefully on the morning of July 3rd, 2024. He was a resident of Loris, SC since 2006.
Prior to moving to South Carolina, Jake spent most of his life in Baltimore, MD. He was a 1967 graduate of Patterson High School, where Jake was a proud member of the choir. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and served as a Corpsman aboard the USS Orion AS-18 and later as a medic for the Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune. Jake then returned to Baltimore and pursued a 25-year career as a Baltimore City Police Officer retiring in 1996. He was an active member of numerous organizations, to include the FOP and the American Legion.
Jake was a kid at heart and was an avid model train collector. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hiking, and fishing. He also had a huge sense of humor and was quite the prankster.
Jake is survived by his three daughters (Lisa, Jacqui, and Tammy), six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held later this year for his friends and family in Maryland. Date and location TBD.
