Henry Louis Pierce, Jr.

It is with deep respect and admiration that we honor the life of Henry Louis Pierce Jr., 74 years - old, of Conway, SC. He passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, with his devoted wife of 52 years, Cynthia Jean Pierce, by his side.

Henry was born on September 23, 1950 to Henry Louis Pierce, Sr. and Iberia Settlemyer Pierce, in Washington DC. He spent fifty-five years of his life residing in Ironsides, MD. After Henry attended LaPlata High School, he went on to serve in the United States Marine Corp on a Navy ship. After he finished his service with the Marines, he joined the Brick Layer Union in Washington DC where he completed his apprenticeship to become a Brick Mason. He spent the next forty years of his life as a skilled bricklayer and master mason whose craftmanship shaped not just structures, but the lives of those around him.

Henry met the love of his life, Cindy, at a dance where he swept her off her feet and six months later proposed to her after asking her father for her hand in marriage. Their connection was undeniable. They married on May 6, 1972 at United Methodist in LaPlata, MD and went on to have three sons, which he considered his greatest accomplishment. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter and family.

Henry was a cherished member of St. Columba No. 150 Masonic Temple in LaPlata, MD as Worshipful Master in 1981, 1982 and again in 1997, where he worked tirelessly to uphold the traditions of the lodge, mentor new brothers, and strengthen the bonds of fellowship within the Masonic community.

Henry retired and moved to his dream home in Conway, SC. He spent the remainder of his life living life to its fullest by fine tuning his culinary cuisine with many SOMD influences. He had an undeniable passion for everything outdoors including golfing, gardening, turkey hunting, crabbing, kayaking, and fishing. No matter where life took him, Henry was never without his loyal pups by his side; Winnie and Chester.

Above all, Henry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Jean Pierce; his sons, Henry and his wife Megan, Patrick and his wife Lacey, Clinton and his wife Kristy; his cherished grandchildren, Liam, Sophie, Graham and Cooper; and his brothers, John, Tim, and John L. May he forever fish in peaceful waters, hunt in beautiful fields, and paint the sunsets of eternity while enjoying endless amounts of tiramisu.

A private celebration of life will be held in MD by his family, where they will honor and remember the life of a man who touched so many with his love, strength and spirit.
