Greg White Obituary

Gregory A. White, 74, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026. Born on September 26,1951, in Circleville, Ohio, Greg lived a life rooted in faith, family, hard work, and unwavering devotion to those he loved most.
A proud graduate of Circleville High School, Class of 1970, Greg spent the majority of his career at DuPont, where he worked his way through several lineman positions—putting in long, demanding 12-hour shifts, often rotating between early mornings and late nights—to provide for his family. His work ethic was steady and selfless, a quiet example of what it meant to show up, day after day, for the people who depended on him. He later retired from DuPont after leading the maintenance department, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and pride in his work.
Retirement, however, didn’t slow Greg down—it simply gave him the chance to do what he loved even more. He returned to his roots at Circleville High School, this time as a school bus driver for athletic teams. This role became one of his greatest joys. Greg rarely missed a game, especially when his grandchildren were playing. He proudly volunteered to drive their buses to away games and tournaments, often arriving with cookies in hand for the ride. For him, there was nothing better than being present—cheering from the sidelines and supporting his family in every way he could. Greg called Circleville home for 67 years before moving to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2018, following the people who mattered most to him—his children and grandchildren. Being close to family was never a question; it was simply where he belonged. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love was most often expressed through a full kitchen and a full table. Food was truly Greg’s love language. Whether it was his famous brownies, homemade bread, chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, marzetti, or pork and sauerkraut, he found joy in cooking and even more joy in sharing meals with those he loved. A perfect day for Greg included a home-cooked meal, family gathered around, and the Ohio State Buckeyes playing on TV—though even that came second to watching his grandchildren compete in sports. A lifelong Buckeye fan, Greg rarely missed a game and supported Ohio State athletics with pride. He also took great care in everything he did—from maintaining a pristine yard to keeping what seemed like every tool ever made (and usually more than one of each). If something needed fixing, Greg was the one you called. Greg was a devout Christian whose faith in the Lord Jesus Christ guided his life. He was strong in his beliefs, firm in his convictions, and never afraid to stand up for what he felt was right. He lived with integrity, spoke with honesty, and loved with his whole heart. He also proudly served his country as a member of the Army National Guard.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Pershing White and Phyllis Irene Weihrauch, and his beloved daughter, Caitlin White.
He is survived by his children: Gregory A. White II (Kathy), Stacia L. Conner (John), and Megan White; his siblings: Jack Pershing White II (Tracy) and Kimberly White Lee; his
grandchildren: Brittany Conner, Mallory Morris (Robert), Madison Conner (fiancé Zach Ullom), and Evan Conner; and his cherished great-granddaughter, Marabelle Quinn Morris.
He is also lovingly remembered by his faithful companion, his dog Dusty. To know Greg was to know loyalty, strength, humor, and a man who loved
deeply—especially when it came to his family. His presence was constant, his support unwavering, and his legacy lives on in the lives of those he loved so fiercely.

A service will be held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Beach Church (557 George Bishop Pkwy. Myrtle Beach, SC 29575) at 12:00 PM, followed by a meal and time of fellowship.

A second service will be held in Circleville, Ohio on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church (135 E Mound St, Circleville, OH 43113), followed by a meal and time of fellowship. This church holds deep and special meaning for the entire White family.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Greg by doing what he loved most—gather with family, share a home-cooked meal, and, if possible, cheer on the Ohio State Buckeyes.
That would have been a perfect day in his eyes.
