On April 17, 2025 Gilbert W Davis, Jr. of Surfside Beach, SC passed away. He was predeceased by his sister Joyce Roche, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Frank and Frances Smith, and brother-in-law Joseph Zarek. He is survived by his loving wife Helen (Layden) Davis, his two children Linda Powell (James) and Robert Davis (Rita), his two stepchildren Kathleen Corrado (Brian) and Thomas Corrado (Teresa), his sister-in-law Jean Zarek, and his grandchildren April Braun, DJ Wolverton, Holly Sacramone, Laura and Elena Haarer, and Liam, Kyra, and McKenna Corrado, and many great grandchildren.

Gilbert was born in East Orange, New Jersey to the late Gilbert Davis Sr. and Alice (Davis) Davis. Gilbert proudly served in the US Army from 1953-56 and he spent many years as a director at various YMCAs in the Northeast. He and his wife Helen moved to the Myrtle Beach area in 1988 where they spent many wonderful years on their boat saltwater fishing and spending time with their friends from the Grand Strand Saltwater Anglers Association and the Surfside Moose Lodge. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the charity of one’s choice.
