Geraldine Lucetta Payne Harris, 68, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on February 2, 2026.
Born on October 17, 1957, in Paynesville, West Virginia, Geraldine was the daughter of Hazel Payne and Evertt Payne, both of whom preceded her in death. She spent much of her life in West Virginia and Virginia before later settling in South Carolina.
Geraldine was known for her caring heart, strong will, and loving nature. She was talkative, steadfast, and deeply devoted to those she loved. She found joy in sewing and quilting, creating with patience and care. She also had a fond love for Little Debbie snacks and was well known for always taking her time while eating, a small habit that reflected her calm, steady presence.
Above all else, Geraldine cherished her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Clyde Harris; her children, Greg Harris and his wife Stephanie Harris, and Alysia Harris and her fiancé Michael Stoffer; and her beloved grandchildren, Sophia Harris, Joseph Harris, and Isobel Billings, who brought her immense joy.
She is also survived by her siblings Patty Ratliff, Herman Payne and wife Lori Payne, and Shelia Cline and her husband Keith Cline. She was preceded in death by her siblings Elzie Vance and James Payne.
Geraldine’s faith was an important part of her life and a source of comfort and strength throughout the years. While she will be deeply missed, her family finds peace in knowing she is now at rest.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and prayers, and gently reminds everyone to cherish their loved ones and hold them close, as time is never guaranteed.
