George W. Pattillo, Jr., A.K.A. Butch, J.R., Junior, and of course my personal favorite…..Dad. He died at home on August 16, 2025, after battling multiple comorbid illnesses. He was 70 years old.
Born on January 23, 1955 in Florence, South Carolina. George lived a life marked by hard work, helping others, and a deep love for his family.
George was the kind of man who would help others simply out of the kindness of his heart. His generosity, compassion, and love of Christ left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He was preceded in death by his father George W. Pattillo, Sr., his mother LeVera Timmons Pattillo, and his sister Ethel Perkins. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
He leaves behind two devoted ex-wives, Karen A. Pattillo, and Terri R. Pattillo. Each with unique, and loving circumstances. George’s children—son George W. Pattillo III (Tripp) and his wife Kelli A. Pattillo, daughter Stephanie P. Wilson, and very close friend Cynthia J. Quarles.
His legacy continues through his seven cherished grandchildren, who brought him much joy.
George is survived by his brother Bruce Pattillo, and many beloved nephews, nieces, and a large extended family who will remember him.
A memorial service will be held in Florence, S.C. at The Church at Parkland on Thursday September 18, 2025 at 1:00p.m. where family and friends will gather to worship our Lord and Savior, while remembering George.
