Edward Richard Walsh

Edward Richard Walsh of North Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly Watertown and Brookline, MA, passed away January 16th, 2026 at home peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Boston February 29th, 1948. "Ed, Eddie, Rick, Ricky" spent his career as a dedicated Police Officer serving the Town of Brookline from 1972 - 2006. He received his Bachelor of Science from UMass Boston and his Master of Arts in Criminal Justice at Anna Maria College. Preceded in death by his parents Edward F. and Marie E. Walsh (née McKay), uncle Joseph P. Walsh and son Scott D. Kennedy.

Survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna M. Walsh (née Cantalupo); his brother, Laurence J. Walsh; his children, Kerri Lyn Walsh, Kevin J. Walsh, Laura F. Kennedy-Gillis and Sean P. Kennedy; his nine grandchildren; and his five nieces and nephews. He spent his last 20 years enjoying his retirement by the beach. Eddie's kind spirit, sense of humor and warm laugh will be sorely missed by his colleagues, family and friends.
