Dorothy E. Sovich (nee Werner) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 13, 2024. Born December 7, 1933, Dorothy spent most of her life residing in New Jersey until relocating to South Carolina after she retired from the Food & Drug Administration. At almost 91 years old, Dorothy proudly served her country in the U.S. Marine Corps and afterward in the New Jersey Army National Guard.
Dorothy is predeceased by her parents, Jennie and Ernie Werner, her sisters Edith and Florence, and her three best friends (all named Lois). Surviving Dorothy are her sister, Joyce [Vinci], 3 children (Robert [Cooke] and his wife Karen, Kathleen [Fernicola], and Patricia [Takeda]), five grandchildren (Patricia [Fernicola], Jennifer [Fernicola], Kristen [Cooke-Rodgers], Tracey [Cooke-Paul], and Michael [Takeda]), and several great grandchildren including Nicole, Reid, Cooke, Harper, and Charlie. Services will be privately held by the family.
