Donald Ray White

Donald Ray White, lovingly known as Don to his family and friends, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, at the age of 86. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family. Born on November 4, 1939, to Vivian Ray White and Irene Williams White, Don was raised in Laurel, Maryland. Don proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged following his military service. While stationed in Texas, Don met the love of his life, Patricia Jo Monday. They were married on May 16, 1959, in Abilene, beginning a remarkable partnership that would span 67 years. Their marriage was built on love, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to one another.

Following his military service, Don built a successful career as the owner of multiple gas stations and automotive repair shops. Later, he turned his lifelong passion into a second career by raising, training, and racing thoroughbred horses. His intelligence, quick thinking, and natural business instincts contributed to his success in every endeavor, but those who knew him best would say his greatest achievement was the family he loved so deeply.

Don and Pat made their home in Savage, Maryland, where they raised their family and built lifelong friendships. They later enjoyed 16 wonderful years in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware before returning to Maryland. In 2022, they relocated to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Jo Monday White; his parents, Vivian Ray White and Irene Williams White; his sister, Clara Mae White Muller; and his brothers, Robert White, Paul White, and Joseph White.

He is lovingly survived by his daughter, Cynthia Sue White Waller and her husband Troy Waller; his son, Larry Wayne White and his wife Barbara Warren White; his grandchildren, Joanna Decker, Cody Stewart, Makenzie Stewart, John White, and Erin White; several great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; his sister, Lois White Evens; his brother, James White; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Though Don accomplished much throughout his life, he would want to be remembered not for his business success, but for the love he shared with his family and friends. His kindness, generosity, wisdom, and steadfast devotion leave a legacy that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.

Don and Pat will be laid to rest together at Savage Cemetery in Savage, Maryland.
