Diana Frances Otero, aged 71, passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2024 due to complications of Alzheimer’s. She was born on August 16, 1953 to Lucille and Francis McNeace in Washington, D.C. She is survived by her devoted husband of 26 years Jose Otero.
Diana had a broad range of friends and loved to bring people together. She had a passion for music and dancing. Her hands were barely still, always busy with baking, cooking, and collecting angels and clowns. A devout Christian who was active in her churches. A volunteer at the Veterans Welcome center directing many in benefits. A traveler near and far.
For many years Diana worked at Hess Mechanical. She started as a Payroll Supervisor and worked her way up to Office Manager. She was respected by all but was especially appreciated by laborers who needed additional assistance with language barriers. She was patient and thorough.
She did her best at living by her favorite quote “This too shall pass.” She would, with humor, add “Now would be great.”
She is survived by her half sister Mary Kay Manosgian. Her sister and husband Joan and Danny Hutchinson, Her sister and husband Brenda and Craig Riddle; her three sons and daughter. Wayne Zimmerli, Angela Brown and son-in-law Patrick Brown, Daniel Zimmerli and daughter-in-law Nikki Zimmerli, and Jeremy Zimmerli and fiancé Jenny Rigiel; grandchildren Dylan Zimmerli, Ryleigh Zimmerli, Torin Zimmerli, Patrick Brown, Jr., Katherine Brown, Paige Zimmerli & Caroline Zimmerli; and her many nieces and nephews. All of these she loved dearly.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Friday, January 3rd at 11am at Florence National Cemetery, 803 E. National Cemetery Road, Florence, SC 29506. In lieu of flowers, donations to alz.org in her name would be appreciated.
