Cristine Marie Black

Cristine “Cris” Marie Black (Chontos) passed away on April 24, 2025, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Born on December 9, 1958, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Cristine lived a life marked by devotion to her family, faith, and community. Cristine shared a devoted marriage with her husband, Timothy M. Black. Together they built a life rooted in love and mutual support. She was a proud mother to Timothy P. Black.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Mary Lou (Coulter) and Alex "Jeff" Chontos. Growing up in a close-knit family, Cristine shared deep bonds with her siblings: Terri (William) Loeffler, Lynette (Barry) Little, Alexis (Edward) Valenta, and the late Sherry Krusienski and Amy Chontos. Her family remained a cornerstone throughout her life. As an aunt, Cristine brought warmth and joy to Jamie Krusienski; Mike, Bryan, and Steven Loeffler; and Bobby (Stacie) Black.

Cristine also held a special place in the hearts of her extended family, including her mother-in- law Dorothy Black and the late John R. Black. Also, with her son-in-law Justin Weiss.

A woman of steadfast faith, Cristine dedicated herself to serving God throughout her life. She made a meaningful impact within her church community through her clothing ministry for the homeless in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Through this work, she offered compassion and dignity to those facing hardship—a true reflection of her generous spirit.

Cristine’s legacy is one of kindness, service, and unwavering love for those around her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
