Connie Faye Smith

Connie F. Smith, age 79, passed away, November 24, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loving husband.

Connie was born September 27, 1946 in Talladega, AL., a daughter of Manning Baxter and Ora “Lucy” Burkhalter. In addition to her parents, Connie is predeceased by her step-father: William “Bill” Miller; brothers: Larry, Bo, and Ray Baxter, half-sisters: Mickie Horne and Margaret Baxter. Connie attended school in Kilgore, TX and served 12 years in the Air National Guard. Connie lived a full life that was well loved. She volunteered over the years at her youngest daughter’s grade school where she made some life-long friends from Tatum, TX. She also loved to draw, paint, garden, and going to thrift shops. But most important to Connie was being a Granny that Was active in her grandkids lives, spoiling them and loving them every chance she had.

Connie is survived by her husband of forty years: Leland E. Smith; sons: Bubba Davis and Jason Davis; daughters: Leigh Ann Waters-Curl and Lori Smith-McCormick; step-daughter: Tamara Fields; siblings: Clayton Baxter and Sue Baxter-Clark, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12noon till 1:00pm Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Myrtle Beach Funeral Home with a memorial service to be held at 1:00pm at Myrtle Beach Funeral Home (843.293.4505) 4505 Hwy 17 Bypass South, Myrtle Beach SC 29577.
