Connie Clelland Obituary

Connie was born January 10, 1940 at the Alliance City Hospital in Stark County, OH. She passed away April 7, 2025 at the McLeod Seacoast Hospital in Little River, SC.

Connie was the daughter of Lowell W. Heestand and Grace E Grimes Heestand. Connie was a beautiful young woman and competed in the Alliance Beauty Contest with her parents' support.

Although she did not receive the crown she placed as a runner up. She worked at the Dairy Isle in Alliance closely with the owner, beginning a lifetime of love for ice cream and a keen business

sense that served her well as an Interior Decorator later in life working for Teschner’s. She loved turning houses into beautiful spaces and she was given special recognition in the local paper

due to her enormous and gorgeous Christmas Wreaths. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she loved to decorate for the holiday season. The Dairy Isle is where she met her future

husband who has since passed and she is survived by her daughter: Mitzi S. Russell, and sons; Craig P. Clelland (wife Karen) and Tadd M. Clelland (wife Cara), 9 grandchildren, and 5 great

grandchildren, also her brother Ron Heestand. Connie loved camping, nature, particulary bird watching, taking long drives in the countryside and word puzzles. She loved her dogs, particularly Abby, her last one which she frequently commented that she was the best dog ever. Abby has survived her as well and misses her in her absence.

She reported that she has lived a good life although tumultuous at times and at 85 years old was more than ready to go. She believed in her church and had a testimony of God and her

savior Jesus Christ which she shared with me before her passing. Despite her pain and discomfort in her later years her feisty attitude, great common sense and love for her family

always shown through with her good natured humor and smile. Mom, you were loved and will be missed.
