Barbara Mary (Hamilton) Moratto aged 82, passed away comfortably in her home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina surrounded by her loving stepchildren and dear friends on November 5, 2024.
She was born on October 22, 1942 in Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late John Orville Hamilton and Julia Hamilton. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Louis Moratto, and brother Erik John Hamilton. Barbara is survived by her Aunt Dolores Derkotch of King of Prussia, PA and her five stepchildren, eight step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.
Barbara had a love for horses and raised many on her land in PA, she also loved the beach and casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey where she met her late husband Louis Moratto. Together they moved to South Carolina and started a life together. Barbara found joy in preparing meals for holidays and celebrating life everyday. She had many friends and spent a lot of her time taking luxurious cruises around the world. There wasn’t a day when you wouldn’t see Barbara all spiffed up in fancy bright colored clothing, except when she was on the beach reading a book and enjoying the sunshine. When she was able to she would enthusiastically embrace holidays with coordination of fancy dinner settings for each holiday and delicious wine for all of her family to join in the fun. We will never forget her laughter and smile she always had on her beautiful face.
At her request there will be no funeral. She will be cremated and her remains will be kept with her late husband Louis’s ashes. The family expresses gratitude to all caregivers and angels that stepped in and helped make the end of Barbara’s life exceptional. Let us remember the past with gratitude, live the present with enthusiasm, and look forward to the future with confidence. May she rest well in Gods hands.
