Andrew Joseph Polasky

Andrew Joseph Polasky, 90, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024. Andy was married
to the love of his life Arlene for 62 years before her death in 2014.

Andy served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Internment will take place at Florence
National Cemetery in South Carolina on August 26, 2024 at 1:00.

Andy retired to Myrtle Beach in 1987 following a successful career as a project manager for Con
Edison in New York City. He and his family spent many vacation days in Myrtle Beach prior to
retiring there permanently.

Andy and Arlene have 3 children. Debra Polasky Quigley (deceased), Glenn Polasky
(Philippines) , and Christopher Polasky (Myrtle Beach). He has a wonderful daughter in law,
Sheri Polasky , 9 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Andy shared his love of Danny Kaye, Neil Diamond, and Frankie Lane with his family and would
send them reminders about upcoming movies on TCM. Andy also shared his love of orchids
and would turn his back porch into a terrarium of beautiful blooms. During his life, Andy had a
passion for animals and took pride in caring for both saltwater and freshwater aquariums.
Andy’s quick wit and sense of humor was something that he had into his final days.

Andy is survived by his sons, Glenn Polasky, Christopher (Sheri) Polasky, his sister, Arlene
Glinka, brother, Dick (Molly) Polasky, and late daughter’s (Debra) husband, son-in-law Joseph
(Janet) Quigley.

duck on a pond, an aquarium full of life, a beautiful orchid, or have a good laugh during a
Danny Kaye movie!
