Allan Long Obituary

️In Loving Memory of Allan Jeffery “Jeff” Long
November 4, 1962 – August 5, 2025

Allan Jeffery Long, lovingly known as Jeff, passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2025, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was 62 years old.

Born on November 4, 1962, in Newport News, Virginia, Jeff lived a life marked by hard work, deep love for his family, and a passion for the great outdoors. A retired master tile installer, Jeff was known for his craftsmanship, dedication, and pride in his work. When he wasn’t working, you could find him cruising the river in his boat—an avid fisherman known to many as “Catfish” found serenity in nature and joy in every outdoor adventure.

Jeff was the kind of man who would help others simply out of the kindness of his heart. His generosity and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He was preceded in death by his father Dennie Long, his mother Virgis Todd Long, and his brother William D. Long. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Kelley Field Long, who stood by his side through every chapter. Each of Jeff’s children—daughter Crystal Dix and her husband Matt Dix, son Tyler Long, and daughter Alexis Long and her partner Ryan Allen—is a reflection of Jeff’s unwavering love, strength, and kindness. He also leaves behind his stepdaughter Michelle Field.

His legacy continues through his five cherished grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.

Jeff is also survived by his brothers Randy Long wife Kaye Long and Kevin Long wife Michele Long, many beloved nephews, nieces, and a large extended family who will remember him with affection and admiration.

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be announced at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor the man who meant so much to so many.

Jeff will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Jeff’s honor, to support the fight against the disease that he faced with such courage.
